Well Black Tent Productions is on the move and looking ahead with prospective projects, which I can only offer high lights at the moment. BTP has its fingers in allot of pies, and by this January at the local library of Fredericksburg I am putting together a diorama display of prospective plays that BTP hopes to present in near and future along with a play presentation.
I am working on series of plays that challenge and question Man and War and that nature and will of such a creature based off a short that I wrote, "Letter of a Soldier'. I have published this piece prior in Writers-Network.com and on Facebook and it always get that gut and knee jerk reaction with that rifled shot response, 'Have you ever been a soldier?!" because it addresses the reality of war and what it does to our men and women who serve.
It is often mistaken that I am attacking the soldier, when in truth I addressing War itself and what a soldier does to survive that personal hell that our government in light of corporate interests subjects them to. It is about what sort of animal that the soldier comes to be in the face of the horrors of war, with only hope and cause to guide him and her through the trials and tribulation that most cannot begin to imagine, but we quick to judge and damn them.
But I will leave that there, and this is one of BTP's projects, the other is an on line magazine that I and Daniel Mollencamp are taking over to help get new authors and artists and their published. The magazine will looking to dance on the knife edge where the artist and his art comes to raise, questions and challenge the reader to think and ponder thoughts that may not be the most comforting of thoughts. It like Black Tent Productions is to be an entity that produces and promotes art that has some purpose and method in mind and heart to challenge and engage the spectator of the artist's craft.
Currently I have twenty-four plays and my onslaught of writings that I am working to get out there , but BTP is working to be an artistic voice within the coming year and a driving force in the artistic community, or at least to be a ripple in the pond that will in time come to be a storm of innovation and enlightenment of many sorts.
Knowing where you want to go and knowing what you want to do isn't really that hard, it's getting there and making it happen and come to be full blown reality that's the hard part. So off to work on the play I must go.
